Matrix has recently opened another office in the Baltimore Area. Located in Monkton, just north of downtown, Jason Speicher heads up the new office with over 10 years of experience in Construction Administration and 5 years of design-build.

Why Design/Build?

When you begin a project, you typically start off with a designer to put your thoughts to paper, then begin the "bidding wars" with several contractors. This takes valuable time and money, and often compromises are made in your designs to match your budget. With a Design Build company, the designer and contractor are housed within the same company to ensure your designs match your budget. Valuable time and money is saved when all three key members (Client, Designer, and Contractor) work together from the beginning.

Why Matrix?

There are plenty of design build companies out there. But don't be fooled. Most are general contractors with one or two "designers" on staff, most of whom have never been formally trained in architectural design. Our staff is comprised of internationally recognized, award winning, LEED Certified, AIA state registered architects. While our on-line portfolio is just a snap shot of our work, we have designed projects not only in Annapolis, but all over the country and the world, including Seattle, LA, Denver, London, Japan, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Germany. We pride ourselves in being the first LEED certified design build company in Annapolis promoting sustainable architecture and designing with less impact on the environment. We have built extensive relationships with local county/city officials and have a strong background in working with the Historic Districts of Annapolis.

Our contractors and subcontractors are all MHIC licensed and insured. Our Managing Director of the Annapolis office, Ben Purcell, has been building/remodeling in the Annapolis area for over 25 years. We know most of the subcontractors in town and realize that their work represents our work. That is why we only work with the best to ensure the highest quality and craftsmanship when building your project.

Now you know how Design Build works - Owner, Architect and Builder all working together from the start. But what about the all the other aspects of a project that need to be addressed like building permits, funding the project, potentially selling or buying the property based on the improvements? Matrix has created alliances with land development services, mortgage companies, real estate agencies, landscape architects, and title companies to provide solutions to ANY issues that may need to be addressed with your project.  


Services

One of the greatest assets is that while we are a Design Build company, we don't have to fit every project into that business model. If you are a homeowner and are already working with a designer, we would be more than happy to help consult with you and your designer on costs and construction methods before the designs are complete, as well as provide construction services. Already have a contractor, but need some ideas or drawings? Not a problem. We will provide you all the design services you require whether its a small deck for your house or if you need master planning for an entire town. Maybe you are an architect and need some visualization assistance. We can provide the best 3D computer models and annimations in the business.
